When the newly created report will be opened, you will be asked to add a new page to the report. You have to select the page type and fill in the name. Select the type \u201cTable\/Chart\u201d and press \u00abOK\u00bb:<\/p>\n

An empty report page will appear:<\/p>\n

There are editors on the left and on the top part of the page, and a pivot-table inside.<\/p>\n

On the top part of the form you can see two \u201cshelves\u201d called \u201cRows\u201d and \u201cColumns\u201d. On the left there is the list of dimensions, hierarchies, levels and measures.<\/p>\n

Below the hierarchies are the levels:<\/p>\n

You can see the levels of a hierarchy by pressing\u00ab\"\"<\/a>\u00bb:<\/p>\n

Drag the level \u201cCategory\u201d of the hierarchy \u201cProduct Categories\u201d on the shelf \u201cRows\u201d with the help of the mouse:<\/p>\n

Find the dimension \u201cDate\u201d (scroll the list to find it), and drag the level \u201cCalendar Year\u201d of the hierarchy \u201cDate.Calendar\u201d on the columns:<\/p>\n

Now only one thing is missing \u2013 one or more measures in the table:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Thus, the simplest report is almost ready. We will add the chart using the corresponding button on the tool bar:<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s save this report using the toolbar icon \u00a0or the appropriate menu item. After pressing the save button you will have to locate the place where to store the report file.<\/p>\n

Note that the report file (workbook) contains only the information about the report\u2019s structure but not the data itself.
